Questions

You came into my life when I needed
someone to take away my loneliness,
someone to listen to me,
someone to care for me,
and you have.

I responded to your concern
and warmth.
I grew to like you,
need you.
I grew
because of you.

You
mean so much to me.
You have become my valued
and trusted friend.
Someone to ride through rough places with,
to pick me up when I'm low,
to listen when I need to be listened to,
to hold me when I need to be held.
Someone who filled many of the gaps in my life.

I
am now confused
by my feelings for you.
Do I love you
or is it gratitude
for what you've been and done?
Do you know?

You
have been drawn to me
by my need,
my vulnerability,
your past experiences.
How do you feel now?
What thoughts and feelings
are running through your mind?

Touched

Our lives have touched
for reasons beyond our ken,
but now we part
someday, perhaps, though we know not
where our lives will take us,
we may meet again.
Our lives may once more touch,
but if not,
my life has been made better because of you.
Your essence will remain
here in my heart,
though memories may dim with time.
For your future
I wish you love first
and happiness next.
The two do not always go together.
God be with you
now
and forever.
