an occasional pm to say hello.
Now
more than a name,
a person, a human being
a contact point
to begin and end my day.
A would be friend
a cyber lover,
a telephone call away.
The distance between us
seems small when we talk
on the phone or the computer,
and yet the distance is great
and may create more problems
than we can deal with.
We know we must consider these
and yet we continue
hell bent towards a meeting
a touching in real time,
face to face,
skin to skin,
and wonder what will happen
after we do.
Will we continue
to want to be together?
Will we hate each other on sight?
We know not,
and so, we talk,
our words filling the spaces
the miles between us,
our laughter, our closeness,
wrapping us together
in time and cyberspace.
Who knows where it will end.
We wait to see.
